After a 35-year career leading a graphic design studio, I've found a second life in clay—a material that invites both spontaneity and surrender. Creating ceramic work provides a new way for me to explore design, now in a dimensional and tactile manner. This chapter of my creative life is about presence, curiosity, and the quiet pleasure of making objects that live well in the hands and in the home.
I began my ceramics journey in 2020, taking online classes offered by Seward Park Clay Studio during the pandemic. My earliest work was hand built, high fire vase forms - a theme that continues in my work today. I quickly developed a passion for working with clay and have spent the last 5 years learning new techniques, trialing surface design, and exploring new forms. In early 2024 I established my new pottery brand and began showing my work in small art markets for the very time.
My work is a study of form and function-an evolving collection of vessels and objects designed to bring calm, beauty, and joyful ritual into everyday spaces. Rooted in a quiet aesthetic, I strive for work that balances softness with intention and offers subtle textures and silhouettes that invite touch and use.
Currently, my focus is on flower vessels for every season: Ikebana vases that celebrate space and asymmetry, tulipieres that bloom from within, flower bricks with sculptural presence, and simple bud vases that honor a single stem. These forms are intended to function as more than containers-they are invitations to pause, arrange, and enjoy.
